It had been a long day for Eli since not much was going on in his life other than the fact that he was diagnosed with depression and found out it’s connected to Bipolar Disorder some how and decided to go online. The minute Eli signed online, he checked out his new followers, he was taken aback when he found out Julia had a tumblr and let his mind wander at the possibilities and how illogical it was. At first he believed it was someone trying to trick him and playing a joke on him so he went along with it and messaged her. They talked for a few moments and he knew it was Julia that he was talking to, then asked to see her. Once she agreed Eli smirked and realized she might not know about Alli, though he knew he’d tell her. He got dressed not long after shutting his computer off, he put on a pair of skinny jeans, a grey graphic tee shirt, his chucks, and coat. When Eli got down stairs he took his car keys before getting stopped by CeCe and Bullfrog as they asked where he was going causing him to simply say “Out.” and head out the door after double checking to make sure he had everything.
Once outside, Eli made his way over to the black BMW his aunt bought him as a birthday gift and chuckled that Bullfrog and CeCe made him sign a contract saying he won’t crash it on purpose or use it to harm himself before getting the car. When he got inside the car he put his iPhone in a cup holder, buckled his seat belt, put the radio one, and pulled out of the drive way to head to the cemetery. On the way there, Eli stopped by a store to pick up a dozen of Julia’s favorite flowers for her, then pulled away from the store. The familiar ride to the cemetery was one Eli knew all too well, he knew it well enough that he could drive there with his eyes closed if he knew it was safe. It didn’t take him long to get to the cemetery and when he did, he parked in his usual spot and headed towards the familiar grave with the flowers. He knelt down in front of her grave as he read the familiar words and ran his fingers over the letters.
“Hey, Jules.” he started and then sighed a little. “I’m doing better since my first and only suicide attempt.” he smirked and placed the flowers down for her. “I know it’s been exactly three weeks since I last saw you. For two of those weeks I wasn’t allowed out of the house unless Bullfrog and CeCe were with me, and the past week I was stuck between home, school, and my therapists office to prove that I’m well enough to go elsewhere.” he chuckled lightly. “It’s been two years since I lost you and I think it’s safe to say that the quote ‘Time heals all wounds’ is a lie. Time just makes us forget and move on. When Clare and I broke up, it got easier because within time I was watching her move on with her life and leave me behind. When I was in the hospital we decided to try again, but time changed both of us and her heart was already taken by someone new while mine wasn’t taken by anyone. I think that quote is bullshit seeing how I’m still in front of you just about every week.” he chuckled lightly.
Julia spent all of her time watching over her loved ones. Eli, her sister, her dad, her friends, they all think that she’s been dead the past two years. She didn’t know how to live again, how to tell them all that she’s alive. If everyone thinks I’m gone, why bother coming back? She thought, her mind racing heavily.
She knew it wasn’t fair to keep lying to them but she didn’t know how else to approach the situation. She finally made up her mind and decided to meet up with Eli. She was dressed in a black dress that went down to her knees and fishnet stockings accompanied with black flats. Her brunette hair was in curls and her face was covered in make up.
Julia made her way to the cemetery, walking at a decent pace. She wasn’t expecting Eli to already be waiting by her tombstone so when she noticed him, she quickly squatted behind a nearby tree, eavesdropping. She concentrated hard on the things he was saying - some hurt more than others. She became overwhelmed with seeing him again that she decided to leave. Julia got up and took a few steps forward, getting ready to turn around when she realized that the pile of leaves she stepped into had crinkled, making a noticeable noise.
Eli instantly turned around, startled. Julia kept her head down, trying her best not to be seen. He ended up asking who she was and why she was hiding, he stood up and looked as if he was going to walk up to her. She ignored him at first but knew that her cover was blown and there was no going back. Julia slowly lifted her head up and met Eli’s gaze. “Elijah,” she said in a soft voice.
